Committee Meeting

Attendees: Doug Lohmeier, John Ranz, Bill Puthoff, Mayor Apking, Chief Cruse, Chief Korte & Jack Cameron
I. Police:
• Chief Korte informed the committee the Police & Fire Dept. was participating in a large critical incident at the GE Aircraft Engine facility on Sept 1, 2010.
II. Fire:
• Discussion postponed on proposed changes to Evendale Fire Prevention Code
• Chief Cruse advised all fire hydrants in the Village were being painted by the dept.
• An extensive discussion on replacement on Ladder Truck 40 and options on how and when to pay for the large expense. Options that include a discount to pay all up front versus an equipment lease over 5-10 years. No definitive decision was made.
III. Other Items:
• Municipal Consulting Firms – Committee will continue to evaluate and discuss the benefits of utilizing an outside firm to assist in operational review.
